With all the nooks and crannies of San Francisco, you really could spend an entire life photographing engaging scenes. There really is no limit to the sights - the more I take shots in this city, the more adamantly I feel about that thought. When seeing things like this, there really is not too much work needed to be done. Really, this interesting scene basically took care of the shot by itself - I merely pressed a button. I will most likely return with to this area with something new. To say I am excited is an amazing understatement.

After a couple months off due to the holidays (and my extremely abstract assignment which was impossible to actually execute on) we got back to basics with what may be the most common, yet most difficult theme to shoot - the landscape. There are some great photos in here, a couple folks took on a more natural type of landscape while others went the more urban route. This was an especially interesting photo assignment to me since I normally do not shoot with the landscape scene in mind. I really did learn a lot from the experience.
Enjoy the photos - I am already looking forward to next week.
I have a thing with telephone lines. I do not know exactly when it happened, but I gained an acute fascination with photographing these lines in the sky throughout the city of San Francisco. There are times when I think I could spend numerous rolls of film just shooting this sort of subject, strange as that may seem. On a trip with my buddy Dennis to photograph people downtown, I made a pit-stop to take this photo - just more evidence of my compulsive habit.
What normally attracts me to these lines are their straight intersections; making the sky look like a shattered piece of glass. Most of these scenes are quite the opposite of organic - ironically, it was the organic nature of these wires that caught my attention. The pure chaos of these wires are simply amazing to me. Every angle is a completely different visual composition - I feel like I could take a multitude of photos of one group of wires from different angles and have each one be completely unique. If you’re in a dense urban area, I highly suggest taking your camera and looking up - you’ll be amazed at a completely different world.
