TheApt.com (Beta) Launched

the apartment A site I helped work on, The Apartment, just launched. The project was to rebuild their site/blog in a much more interactive model with greater potential for user interaction. The site was built in Flex and was relatively large in scale. On top of it, this was my first Flex project, so it was quite a learning experience.

I definitely suggest checking it out. There were some very large technical challenges for this project, as well as a few we still need to tackle. Still, we are pretty stoked about its (beta) launch. One work of warning - the content can be a little risqué, so I would think twice about opening this site up at work.

For any of you wondering why I have not written a very noteworthy article in a while, this project had a little something to do with that. Hopefully things will be calming down a little from now on and I can get back to my regular schedule.

More Changes to Some Random Dude

I am desperately trying to make some more improvements/additions to this site but time just is not on my side. I am putting thought into actually investing in a developer helping out with certain pieces of functionality I do not feel comfortable doing. Note, this is still very up in the air, so please do not start advising people to hit me up. Still, if I do in fact move forward with this, I would love to get any suggestions for people willing to do some PHP/MySQL work - paid of course.

I genuinely have been listening to everyone’s suggestions and I will be attempting to add many of those to the site (if not more). I finally bubbled the comment love monthly total above the fold as can be seen in the header. This is obviously cosmetic more than anything, but it’s one less thing to complete.

Be patient folks, there are some pretty ambitious plans on the horizon. Hopefully they will be reality sooner than any of us think.

This week has been extremely busy - I do not remember the last time I have sent off so many emails in a week… Still, the weekly links of the week rolls on with a nice collection of clickables just for you.

On a side note, you cannot imagine how difficult it is to write something original in these posts at this point. You can only say “here are the links” so many different ways…

Enjoy the links.
