Comment Love for March 2008

Posted on 2 April, 2008 at 10:24am with 3 comments

It was another bitter-sweet month for this blog. March 2008 had the highest total of return visitors ever and RSS subscriptions are continuing to increase at a healthy rate. Still, March had only 22 comments which ended up totaling just $11.00. All $11.00 was donated to Carbonfund.

With this month’s contribution, we offset 5,680 miles driven from a car with the average miles per gallon (25.2 mpg) or roughly 2 tons of C02 according to Carbonfund’s calculator.

I have no doubt that these lack of comments have a lot to do with the fact that the format of posts has had a less open-ended format than usual. Unfortunately, this stems from a lack of time. Still, if you like this program, please let your friends about this feature. Hopefully we will hit something closer to $50 soon.

Comment Love for January 2008

Posted on 4 February, 2008 at 11:24am with 6 comments

January 2008 was a great month for traffic, however the comments are not keeping up. January had 37 comments which ended up totaling $18.50. All $18.50 was donated to Carbonfund.

With this month’s contribution, we offset 9,554 miles driven from a car with the average miles per gallon (25.2 mpg) or 3.36 tons of C02 according to Carbonfund’s calculator. We still are far from the $50 limit, but eliminating close to 10,000 miles of driving is not too shabby.

I am definitely back into the swing of things and will continue to put out 3 posts a week. I am really trying to concentrate on one quality article each week which can be a challenge at times. Luckily, February has the potential to be open for some writing and finalizing of projects. Hopefully that will bring more comments…

Comment Love For All the Months I Flaked Out On

Posted on 6 December, 2007 at 1:35pm with no comments

It has been a very long time since I have followed through on the monthly Comment Love feature. I honestly have no idea how much money as been tallied up through comments, although I know my lack of blogging participation has brought about little comment participation… So as a nice little clear-the-board action, I decided to donate $100 to Carbonfund to take care of all the past months.

With this month’s contribution, we offset 51,655 miles driven from a car with the average miles per gallon (25.2 mpg) or 18.18 tons of C02 according to Carbonfund’s calculator. From this point on, I will be blogging more, which (hopefully) means more comments, which means more donations.

Thanks for the patience and the comments!

Comment Love for June 2007

June’s Comment Love came close to the $50 thanks to a couple posts that garnered quite a bit of discussion. There were 94 comments this month which totaled $47.00. All $47.00 was donated to Carbonfund.org this month.

With this month’s contribution, we offset 22,210 miles driven from a car with the average miles per gallon (25.2 mpg) or 8.55 tons of C02 according to Carbonfund.org. We broke $50 last month and were just a sliver away this month – I am very happy about that. I think a lot of the responsibility for keeping these numbers up is on me in order to write articles that drive discourse – I will really be pushing that aspect of this site from this point on.

I also have no forgotten about the Good Magazine give-away feature for this month… I will be posting that later today.

Thank you to all who have commented!

Comment Love for April 2007

April was a pretty successful month for Comment Love. There were 86 comments this month which totaled $43.00. All $43.00 was donated to Carbonfund.org this month.

With this month’s contribution, we offset 22,210 miles driven from a car with the average miles per gallon (25.2 mpg) or 7.82 tons of C02 according to Carbonfund.org. I am really happy that we got up to $43 in donations this month considering the low output of articles during the period. We are extremely close to $50, my hope is once I start pulling my weight, we will hit this magic number.

Thanks again to everyone that commented!
