It has been a tremendously long week and it is going to be a tremendously long weekend. That being said, I managed to compile the weekly links of the week, albeit unorganized. I am slightly surprised that I was even able to get the list out in the first place…
Next week is probably going to be just as bad if not worse. Lots of cool things are being made - unfortunately I cannot talk about any of it at this time. While I toil away on secret things, please enjoy the list of links that below.
- Olbermann Catches O’Reilly Again - Crooks and Liars
- It is not sad yet, but it is becoming pretty close. It seems to be getting easier and easier to find flaws in all of the talking-head’s nonsense.
- Linux and Web Development Intro - Monday By Noon
- This guy has been putting out some really good articles for quite some time. I personally am not going to be making the switch to Linux in the foreseeable future, but if you are, this is the article for you.
- Ever wanted to know when google crawls your site? - SWiK
- Very interesting article about how to use PHP to notify you when Google has crawled through your site. I may just do this myself.
- Crazy ASCII Animation
- My friend Kellie always asks how I find the time to post these links. I think we all should be more curious how people find the time to make something like this.
- OSX and Longhorn Development - Functioning Form
- Interesting article discussing the design process of OS X and Longhorn. Personally, I got a deep sense of how the design of Longhorn symbolizes much Microsoft is behind the times.
- mnemomap
- I hope to be seeing more and more of things like this in the near future. Correct me if I am wrong, but isn’t this what Web2.0 promised?
- Imagining the Tenth Dimension
- Ten dimensions of absolute radness.
- Air Tap by Erik Mongrain
- Stunningly amazing. I never knew a human being could do that with a guitar.
- A Sneak Preview at CrazyEgg - DevLounge
- A very good article on a very exciting app. I too have been given the opportunity to test this app and I’ll be looking forward to writing about my experiences.
- Insignificant Thoughts
- Solid blog covering a variety of topics.
- 16 Elements You Must Include in Your Site Design - Web Host Directory
- Good thoughts on best practices for developing a website. Relatively basic, but a good read.
- Spin
- Very disturbing and well worth watching.
- Ikea Hacker
- Why wasn’t this blog around four years ago! Oh the fun that could have been had.
- Dry Cleaner’s Typography - Ping Mag
- From Ping Mag:
I got completely lost this morning on my scooter - which resulted in A) getting to know Tokyo a bit better and B) lots of photos of shop-typography. To my big surprise, I noticed that most (in my opinion) stylish typo could be found on the countless dry cleaners around. Here is my favorite collection.
I never would have even considered doing this. I do have to admit that the signage is much more enjoyable than their counterparts in the States.
- Logo New(s) 7: Ducks, Bucks, Payless and Priceless - Be A Design Group
- Let us just say that we are not in the middle of a golden age of identity design… via Robin at SnarkMarket
- iConquer
- I am not much of a gamer, but this seems intriguing…
- Timeout Your Mouseovers - PJ Hyett
- Another AJAXy tutorial. Enjoy.
- Do your graphics say the wrong thing? - Creating Passionate Users
- A very good question that we should all be asking ourselves on a continual basis. Great read.
- Updated 35mm Lego Camera Design - Found Photography
- I will make one of these eventually. This is another great installment by Adrian Hanft about how to make a Lego pinhole camera. Why this blog does not get more attention is beyond me…
- PayPerPost.com offers to sell your soul - TechCrunch
- How convenient - selling your soul was never so easy!
- Unrecognized - A Dissection of Space
- Seriously, do we give even a fraction of credit to the people that clean our spaces (be it public or private)? Kellie brings points out the white elephant in the room.
- Vincent Ferrari - The Blog Bit Me
- Leah talks about Vincent Ferrari’s horrible experience with AOL and how her experience with 24-Hour Fitness and my experience with Dell mimics it a little too closely. On a personal note, my little “slice of heaven” bestowed to be over the phone from Dell has brought me one step closer to the solution.
- Taco Town
- Yup, that’s about right. via SimpleBits

Thanks for the plug, man. I appreciate it a lot. You’ve once again managed to include links that I hadn’t come across in my weekly wandering around the net — thanks and keep the weeklies coming.

On a side note, why do we spell monkeys with a eys instead of ies? Man, English drives me insane.
