This week has been extremely busy - I do not remember the last time I have sent off so many emails in a week… Still, the weekly links of the week rolls on with a nice collection of clickables just for you.
On a side note, you cannot imagine how difficult it is to write something original in these posts at this point. You can only say “here are the links” so many different ways…

17.11.06 12:56 pmAh, that Kiwi video was shown on NZ’s national current affairs show at prime time, it’s great.
I’ve always been intrigued in Machu Picchu, awesome stuff.
How’s the Democrat’s 100 Hours going? It looks promising.
Keep it up!

Perhaps you could briefly mention a link or links that you specifically liked a lot and the reason(s) why. That may be a good way to start off a post without having to use the same introduction every week. Just a suggestion….

19.11.06 5:09 pmMan, that’s a really good idea - I think I’ll do that from now on.
Seriously, this blog would suck a whole lot more without all the good commenters!

19.11.06 5:32 pmThe kiwi video really blew me away. Animation was top notch and the character was so loveable. When he/she took its flight, I had a feeling it wasn’t going to end well. So tragic, but the message was very powerful. Based on the Youtube comments, I’m surprised a lot of people didn’t get it.
There’s another equally beautiful and tragic animation called “The Legend of the Scarecrow” (La Leyenda del Espantapajaros), translated into english. I saw this multi-award winnign short film on KQED and it almost left me in tears. A kind scarecrow doesn’t realize that his purpose in life is to frighten animals, so he tries unsuccessfully to make friends with a flock of crows. They all hate him and he doesn’t get it. When he finally realizes why he guards a vineyard, he tries to negotiate with his human owner to set him free, which leads to some tragic consequences…
Sadly, there wasn’t a youtube link for it, so check out some of the screenshots. Really pretty yet dark Tim Burton style animation: http://www.seattlefilm.org/festival/film/detail.aspx?id=18601&FID=13
