Some Random Dude

I personally am not the biggest fan of shooting nature - it is not a subject I feel I capture well. For example, I recently went to Muir Woods with the intention to take some photos of the redwood forest… It did not go too well. Still, every once in a while, I will find a small semblance of nature in the city which I find quite striking and compelled to shoot. This was an example of that case.

If you look through my Flickr photos, you will quickly notice the lack of nature photos. I personally find the subject to always end up looking far too cliche when I take photos of it. Everyone scoffs at Ansel Adams, but his photos have become timeless treasures, while scores of other nature photographers have fallen into obscurity. Of course, the scene one photographs makes a big difference, but there is some mysterious skill to photographing nature - I have yet to grasp it.
