I finally had the chance to roll out the latest icon set I’ve worked on. Sanscons is a small derivative of Bitcons, but it allows much greater flexibility with some help from CSS.
The Sanscons set currently has 121 individual icons covering a wide range of subjects. I currently use Bitcons for my site since it follows my current color scheme, but I thought it would be much more helpful to everyone else to allow for different colors and framing styles. The project page explains in detail how to use CSS with the images to work on your site. Please let me know if you have questions or suggestions.
If you’re sick of having to re-style all your icons everytime you redesign your site or just change the color scheme, this icon set will make your life much easier.

Nice work on these icons. It’s a technique I used way before September 2005, but never developed a full icon set for. I’m glad it’s done and available.
Good job!

9.02.2006 12:34 pmI’ve looked at Dan Cederholm’s icons side-by-side with your Clearbit icons and they aren’t even close to being the same. The trash can, for one, is completely different. At $25 for a custom colored set of icons should Dan be concerned? Absolutely, there goes his “cash cow”. Do I think you have anything to worry about? Not in the least. Maybe he posted his first but your method runs circles around his. Thanks for making this possible.

9.02.2006 1:00 pmHey man…
I’m with you on this one. You didn’t copy Dan’s icons and I don’t see Dan as having the right to “shut you down” just because he is trying to make money off a similar set/idea. Sometimes those are just the breaks and I think Dan needs to let this on slide…
Disclaimer: I have nothing but the utmost respect for Dan. Just think he’s off on this one.
