Tonkyou Icon Set Complete

Posted on 15 August, 2005 at 11:00pm

This project is WAY overdue…

I finally got the time to put up the new icon set I made a while back. I called it ‘Tonkyou’ — wierd name I know. I could go into the roots of why I came upon that name, but it really is quite boring and trivial. As you may know, this is the second font I’ve made with the first being Iconitos.

I had one hell of a time getting the OpenType fonts to work correctly and I still feel font creation is more witchcraft than anything else. This set worked on both my PC and Mac, but please let me know if you run into any issues if you decide to download & install this font on your system.

Type in the textfield below to see each glyph:

Here are samples of all the weights:

regular

light

outline

heavy

This icon set obviously isn’t the most useful piece of work in the world, but I found the forms quite interesting and I could see myself using them in one way or another one of these days. Since sharing an Illustrator file just isn’t as cool, I thought it would be fun to create another font.

Please download and have fun. Drop me a line (somerandomdude AT somerandomdude dot NET) if you ever use it for anything.
