I do not think many folks will argue that the content on this site has been subpar in the past few months. Sure, I have added a photoblog and Comment Love, but it retrospect, that really is not too significant for that amount of time. I have tons of articles in the queue that are half-written, my hope is those can be finished and published within the coming weeks. My congrats to Shaun Inman for making a truly powerful web statistics package – I just found it a little too powerful…

20.06.2007 2:34 pmI have been using Mint for probably about as long as you, but I have managed to avoid stat addiction. It is an amazing stat tracker and I almost feel guilty for NOT checking it daily. All that great info that I am not taking advantage of. I think you hit on something pretty interesting, though, that I am noticing from clients. They spend so much time focusing on traffic and search engine optimization and then they don’t concentrate on actually creating content worth reading. Then they wonder why they don’t get the traffic they want. They pay extra for the SEO package and wonder why they don’t get traffic.

21.06.2007 1:13 amI did exactly the same about 7-8 months ago – now I never look at my stats and it feels much better. No longer do my moods depend on how many visitors I’m getting :D

Steve – Well, it looks like I am in good company. I can definitely relate with you about mood swings based off daily traffic numbers. In retrospect, it was absolutely ridiculous to intentionally subject myself that type of environment. :P
