Plone Conference Presentation

I wanted to share the deck from the presentation I gave last week at Plone Conference 2011. I had a wonderful time giving it — the conference organizers were great along with the audience being warm and welcoming. Some really good conversations came out after the talk. I wish I could have stayed there for another two hours just listening and sharing with the crowd.

I would like to continue presenting this talk at other venues. While this line of thinking is catching on, there are still far too many organizations that practice design and development in a segregated manner. There also seemed to be some genuine interest on what this talk would look like if focused in the other direction (i.e., how designers are vital to developement). I would love to have the opportunity to share my thoughts on that subject as well.

  1. user experience is like the coffee filter, it kind of sorts out the good sites from the badly developed ones. it can get an initial following but what doesn’t appeal to users will not likely achieve stardom in the online world. apple would be a very good model for fusing design, backend technology and considerations for user experience.
